Meeting Rachel
My first meeting with Rachel was wonderful and beautiful, our meeting point was at the waterfront, I thought it would be easier for her and her husband to meet us there because it was straight forward and they were still not familiar with Cape Town as yet…
We were an hour early coming from church, so my 7 year old son and I had a walk round trying to find a place were we could sit with them when they arrive and have fun at the same time while we were waiting on them. We had enough of the sun and we finally sat down and watched the repeat of the morning rugby on the big screen and checking at the time, I received an sms from Rachel saying “We have arrived we are heading towards the wheel”, I was excited and nervous at the same time, it was like I was going to meet a high school best friend that I have not seen for a long time and we had been meaning to meet but never got to make the time, without me realizing and in my thoughts thinking about Rachel if she is going to see us because I had told her we are waiting at the entertainment area by the wheel and watching rugby, I just looked up and my son says there is Rachel and in my mind how did he know it was Rachel and Rachel was heading towards us and smiling, we hugged, we let go and we hugged again and that is when I started cry with joy and we both cried that we finally met and we were going to learn more about it each other it was going to be a start of a beautiful friendship, really I was not thinking about art ,I was just thinking that a good friend of mine is here to be with me and I really appreciate that and I am grateful to God that He kept them safe and He is still going to keep them safe until they return home to UK. It has been a long waiting and chatting with her on line and on “Skype” everyday it was not yet real, we were counting the days and my son was even more excited than me to see her because he was promised gifts, we had lunch and we chatted away, Welcome Rachel and Tim in my world, you are here to stay.
