Ndingu Mama ~ I am a Woman
My name is Noloyiso. I have a lovely daughter (21 years) and also I am a single mum: so it is quite hard to raise a child alone. My boyfriend passed away when I was two months pregnant – it was an accident; and of course my child never knew her father.
2001 I became sick and it was TB. My doctor told me that I had TB in my lungs. I took the treatment for six months and I became well.
2009 I became sick again; my hip was very sore and in the end I was admitted to Tygerberg Hospital where the doctor told me that I had another TB hip. I had treatment for eighteen months and I lay for a month in hospital; it was so difficult to walk; I was using crutches. As time went by I began to feel better: I was eating tablets and having injections every day except Saturday and Sunday fro almost two months. But I persevered; and now I am fine.
My dream is to see my daughter have a proper job; and also I want to see myself driving a car which is a Land Rover.

I know how hard it is to bring a child up alone, but to do so at the same time as coping with very serious illness is a big achievement. It was therefore wonderful to be able to visit Noloyiso and see her in good health again. Congratulations on successful completion of the unlimited project!
