Film screening & talk at the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology (MAA), Cambridge

Seven shorts, featuring Rachel Gadsden and the Bambanani Group were shot on location in Khayelitsha Township and at SOBEIT Studios, Cape Town, in October 2011. Made by Gadsden with filmmakers Cliff Bestall and Deborah May, each portrait offers a glimpse of the world as seen through its subject’s eyes; at turns joyful, resolute, defiant, heartfelt and poetic. Viewed together, the series presents multiple reflections on the political and personal currents explored throughout Unlimited Global Alchemy.
